Since October 2000 the EU Directive on end-of-life vehicles is enforced and has been transposed in almost all EU member states. For all vehicles which have been put on the market first time after 1st of July 2002, the take back of vehicles is free of charge for the last holder. As of 2007 this is also valid for all other vehicles independent of their registration date.

Saab offers you the opportunity to give your old vehicle back to one of the partners of our ELV take-back network. The cost free take-back is only valid under specific prerequisites. In most countries these prerequisites are:

Only vehicles with up to 9 seats or Light Commercial Vans up to 3.5 tons
Vehicle was finally registered in a EU member state
Vehicle does not contain any non-automotive waste
The original vehicle papers have been handed over together with the vehicle.

Please find the conditions valid for your specific country and a list of contracted Saab partners on the local Saab website.

All of our dismantling facilities fulfil all legal requirements and have been certified by independent experts according to the ELV law. Each of these facilities, all processes and the documentation of all incoming and outgoing material streams have additionally been checked by our recycling experts. The fulfilment of the strong Saab requirements can be ensured through all these companies.

After the hand-over of your old vehicle the dismantler will establish a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) which you need for final de-registration. Later on the dismantler will care about the environmental friendly recycling and disposal of your vehicle.
